IFBOA Taps ONYX President as Board Chairman
Bedford, MA - August 20, 2007
"It's always exciting to help create new routes for independent business growth," says Kevin Walsh, newly-appointed Chairman of the Board for the IFBOA (Independent Fixed Base Operators Association), "and I am excited about filling this advocacy organization's leadership role because it offers me exactly those kinds of opportunities for developing member services."
In announcing Walsh's chairmanship, John M. Wraga, Jr., IFBOA founder and Executive Director, expressed his pleasure with the decision, and praised Walsh's professionalism and unique Fixed Base Operators (FBO) industry qualifications. "Kevin's aviation background, particularly in the FBO sector, underscores both the value and strength of his support and the caliber of his guidance," says Wraga.
Walsh, who is continuing as president of Onyx Aviation, LLC, says, "I look forward to using my aviation business experience to provide IFBOA members with infrastructure that allows them to gain full benefits from our new economic and operational programs."
"With Kevin aboard," says Wraga, "the IFBOA is now poised to implement our strategic plans for programs weve designed to enhance both the economic viability and the competitive posture of independent FBO members."
In citing examples, Wraga says that Walsh's addition "serves to facilitate IFBOA plans to raise the bar for new and improved safety and security procedure standards." He says the IFBOA will also be providing member FBO's with "consolidated purchasing arrangements, interactive training modalities, collective marketing presentations" and will be "pioneering the use of expanded information sharing services." Added together, says Wraga, "this array of services translates into tangible benefits for our members, their employees and their customers."
Interested independent FBO's are urged to contact Wraga directly at 781.860.7400 for additional information, and to check the www.IFBOA.aero website for membership details, ongoing news of service program availabilities, and industry happening updates.
