New Industry Designation Recognizes FBO Management Professionals

The IFBOA (Independent Fixed Base Operators Association) now provides existing FBO managers and candidates with firsthand learning exposure to top-producing industry leaders and best practice methods, while affording them the opportunity to achieve new levels of professional recognition.

According to IFBOA Executive Director John M. Wraga, Jr., "For an individual to be able to add CGAM initials after his or her name is proof of major accomplishment and of a solid commitment to personal, professional and corporate success." The Program - available to both IFBOA Members and nonmembers alike - will, Wraga says, "bring industry-wide recognition to graduates because it means an individual has completed a rigorous training program, and in addition passed a three-hour qualifying examination."

The Program brings "worthy recognition" to industry professionals whose careers are "typically extraordinary at both the operational and customer services level& people whose talents are often under the radar of aviation industry awareness," says IFBOA Advisory Board Chair, Kevin Walsh. Walsh credits IFBOA Board Member input and access to the experiences and "leading edge resources" of both Onyx Aviation, LLC, and The Cambridge Group, LLC with providing the basis for Program development.

Certification training segments include employee, customer, and community relations; marketing; fuel storage and delivery; safety and security issues and procedures; airport operations; environmental issues and processes; FAA regulations; service operations; general business operations and management; and other areas associated with both day-to-day and long-term planning of FBO facilities and service centers.
